Asteera is a physiotherapist from South Africa. She attended university at KwaZulu Natal and has completed various courses in dry needling, cupping and musculoskeletal disorders. She completed her post-graduate studies in Orthopaedic Manual Training with the South African society of physiotherapy, and has a Comprehensive Pilates teaching qualification from BASI Pilates.
Over the last 10 years, Asteera has worked closely with neuro and orthopaedic surgeons, in various hospital institutions in South Africa , treating a wide variety of pre and post op clients, in conjunction with running her own sport and orthopaedic practice, treating both leisure and professional-level athletes. Asteera has been with DISC since 2021. Her passion for sports and musculoskeletal injuries empowers her clients to return to a functional lifestyle as soon as possible.
Outside the clinic Asteera enjoys swimming, netball, yoga and pilates. She loves the outdoors, exploring and finding hidden gems. Her mantra is quiet your mind and free your body.
